Overview Northrop Grumman is seeking a SDS Design Engineering Electrical Department Manager 3 located in Roy, Utah; Huntsville, Alabama; or Colorado Springs, Colorado and will provide enabling support for all business areas within the SDS portfolio.

What You’ll Do

Provide ownership for the people, processes, and tools that support business areas and programs in achieving their missions.

Recruit, staff and retain talent to deliver on objectives; mentor, develop, and train section managers and staff.

Support proposal work, independent technical reviews, program standups and audits, and special assignments as needed.

Lead improvements in employee engagement, hiring, development, training, attraction, and retention of top talent.

Review and analyze released engineering change data and coordinate changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and data control activities.

Communicate effectively with senior management, peers, and employees.

The ideal candidate is capable of creating and managing high performing teams while providing technical, administrative and management expertise in the day to day activities required to successfully execute complex engineering programs.

Work Schedule The position follows a 9/80 schedule: nine-hour workdays Monday through Thursday, with every other Friday off.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8+ years of related experience

Minimum 5 years of proven leadership experience and ability to work effectively in a team

Active U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval within a reasonable period

Minimum 3 years in a formal management position

General understanding of NG Electrical Engineering Processes

Ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance

Nice to Have

Master's Degree with 9+ years in STEM, preferably in engineering

Experience as an Engineering Leader across acquisition, design, integration, and execution; mentoring engineers

Familiarity with Agile engineering and Jira

Active TS Clearance; Program Access; experience with ICBMs

Experience creating or growing new departments or leading engineering teams

Experience leading large-scale sustainment efforts and cross-functional task order management

Salary Salary range: $146,800.00 - $243,500.00. The range represents a general guideline; final offers depend on factors including scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and potential long term incentives may be available depending on position. Northrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid holidays and PTO.
