What you'll be doing:
Performing maintenance, repairs, and minor improvements to the community’s building(s) and equipment to promote a positive customer service culture. How you'll do it: Demonstrate that Pacific Retirement Services’ (PRS) Core Values—excellence, innovation, integrity, stewardship, compassion, and collaboration—are ingrained in all aspects of your role. Participate actively in the department’s standard training program to enhance your skills in your area of focus. Provide residents with an inviting experience, emphasizing that your role is to serve and support them. Approach all interactions with residents, guests, and co-workers in a gracious, attentive, and courteous manner. Perform duties as part of the daily preventative maintenance plan, including drywall and wood repair and light painting. Clean and organize your designated areas. Carry out minor repairs and basic maintenance on electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems and equipment. Respond to community alarms and emergencies as directed, possibly serving as a first responder alongside security and local agencies. Be familiar with emergency procedures and remain calm during emergencies. Perform other duties as assigned. About you: At least 1 year of experience in carpentry, general building repair, or a related field. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license or certification is preferred. CPR/AED and First Aid certifications obtained upon hire or within 90 days. Ability to use ladders and basic hand tools safely. Skills in operating, repairing, and maintaining shop equipment and tools. Ability to read and understand labels and instructions. Strong oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
