Supplier Quality Engineer

The primary function of the Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is to monitor and communicate quality issues for purchased components and assemblies from Containment through 8D closure. This includes evaluation of corrective actions to ensure robustness to prevent re-occurrence. This role will manage complaints on purchased materials (CPM's). The SQE also is an integral part of our PPAP sample verification and documentation management system. They will work closely with plant leadership assisting in local plant change management processes. This individual will contribute to the development and implementation of site safety and health goals, objectives, rules and procedures.
Supplier Defect Containment and 8D Corrective Action
Identify and verify suspect supplier parts Coordinate containment of material at supplier and in transit. Responsible for disposition of material once contained Support on-site sorting or approved re-work as needed to support continuity of supply Initial follow-up on supplier containment and corrective action Supplier 8D review of actions and supporting documentation for closure. On-site verification of 8D actions supported through SDE function as required Follow-up of CS1 and CS2 Shipping Level is required. Approval of CS2 condition is required Participate in Quarterly Worst Supplier Reviews Organize and maintain Supplier PPAP database Coordinate Change Management Process with Supplier through plant specific Change Management Processes Support follow-up on customer identified annual PPAP requirements Notify supplier of PPAP approvals Safety, Health and Physical Requirements
Contribute to the development and implementation of site safety and health goals, objectives, rules and procedures; actively participate in a safety engagement team, as well as follow all EHS rules, procedures and policies. Wear PPE when appropriate in designated areas. Key Skills
