Position Overview
Support Staff position in the central office. 12‑month role (260 days/year), 8 hours per day, hourly pay $18.88 per hour starting. Non‑exempt, non‑overtime.
Essential Functions
Review, verify, and count incoming inventory; inspect packages; unpack, unload, palletize.
Verify item descriptions, quality, and condition per shipping documents; segregate damaged items.
Operate MHE (forklifts, handcarts, dollies) to load, unload, relocate, and palletize; perform preventative maintenance and inspect equipment.
Pack, label, band, and store inventory; construct bins, shelving, and storage aids; maintain accurate shelf/bin locations.
Record and maintain accurate inventory count sheets; address discrepancies; support the Warehouse Foreman.
Respond to telephone inquiries; record messages; assist callers with unit‑of‑measure questions.
Assist in shipments to customers; complete route in courier absence; back up couriers; deliver items to FCPS offices and schools.
Maintain warehouse cleanliness; perform other duties as assigned by Warehouse Manager.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license and ability to operate FCPS vehicle per regulations.
Physical ability to lift minimum 75 pounds; meet physical requirements of the position.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Minimum age 18.
Regular and predictable attendance.
Capable of performing essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in warehouse and inventory control procedures.
Experience in storage and handling of supplies and equipment.
Working knowledge of the general organization and functions of major FCPS units.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Familiarity with FCPS policies, goals, and programs.
