Building Official - Tarrant County SAFEbuilt has the technical expertise to provide Community Development services. We value integrity, improvement, service, teamwork, and respect. This position offers opportunities for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of assignments, supported by a full complement of resources and exciting projects. Responsibilities
Meet all state and locally mandated code compliance and reporting requirements. Apply knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to day-to-day building department operations. Serve as primary liaison with clients and deliver high levels of customer service. Attend department and community meetings as required by the client. Perform plan reviews for commercial and residential projects in all trades. Provide inspection support as needed. Supervise building department staff. Knowledge & Skills
Extensive knowledge of local building code regulations, policies, and procedures. Solid computer skills and experience with MS Office. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to exercise initiative and display independent judgment. Self-directed and self-motivated. Education & Experience
ICC Building Official certification required. ICC Inspector certifications in multiple trades. Client and team management experience in a building department setting. Inspection and plan review experience for commercial and residential structures. Compensation & Benefits
