VINCI Construction Grands Projets USA . The Walsh-VINCI Transit Community Partners (WVTCP) Joint Venture, comprising VINCI Construction Grands Projets and Walsh Construction, has been selected to construct the $2.9BN Design Build Red Line Extension (RLE) project—the largest civil construction contract ever awarded by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). The RLE Mainline Design-Build (MDB) Project will extend the CTA's Red Line by 5.6 miles, from the 95th/Dan Ryan terminal south to 130th Street and Doty Avenue. Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, develop and organize the design efforts focused on civil works. Provide administrative and technical support and direction of Design. Act as a technical reference for the construction team, coordinating with all parties. Serve as the referent in the technical aspect of civil works design, procurement and future construction. Manage the civil works Designer (earthworks, drainage, Management of Traffic, roads, pavement, utilities deviation) and interface with other disciplines: system, track, structure, stations. Key actor in the Design approval process, including design review, constructability review, means and methods interface and incorporation, client review, 3rd party review, permitting process. Review and approve drawings developed by subcontractors and other Designers during different project phases. Manage requests for information from designers. Review and approve subcontractor’s requests. Develop key performance indicators. Promote and implement Safety in Design and Environment in Design.
Salary
$115,000.00 - $130,000.00
Work Environment
Dynamic and challenging work environment. Includes tasks such as maintaining and repairing heavy machinery, ensuring equipment operates efficiently, and adhering to safety protocols on construction sites. Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) on-site.
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Walking and standing while in-office or on-site. Occasional climbing on and off equipment and bending to inspect.
Required
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution. 5-10 years’ engineering design experience within Design-Build Projects. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Minimum 5 years in design and/or design management of civil works and associated technical trades. Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others. Broad generalized knowledge of personnel safety, process safety, and environmental principles/regulations. Project management and administrative skills to plan, organize, coordinate, and control multiple projects including cost and schedule control. Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of a structured project management or project development and execution process is a plus. Excellent technical and problem solving skills to identify alternatives and select the most appropriate solution with minimal guidance. Experience working on Joint Venture (JV) construction projects required. Fluent in English with professional proficiency. Valid Driver's License.
Preferred
Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE). Experience in AutoCAD.
