TITLE: Purchasing Manager REPORTS TO: VP, Purchasing FLSA: Exempt Responsibilities:

Managing the daily activity as well as training and development of direct reports. Driving accountability for completing purchasing activities such as RFP's, PO placement, delivery expediting and cost resolution timely and accurately in accordance with established policies and procedures to meet manufacturing and customer requirements at the highest quality, best total cost and shortest lead time. Experience in purchasing industrial supply type items for repairs and maintenance of large equipment and processing plants. Strong negotiation skills in managing the competitive bidding process of vendors and aligning quotes for analysis and presentation to management. Strong experience in negotiating the purchase of large capital equipment and a history of working with finance companies and aligning competitive bids for both capital and supporting these purchases with competitive financing options. Managing supplier base; driving performance improvements in the areas of supplier cost, quality, delivery, and warranty. Directly working with the Management, establish and negotiate material purchase and supply contracts to control costs and maintain competitive pricing. Manage the activities of direct reports to support Operations to meet the needs of the business in a timely fashion. Drive working capital improvements through efficient inventory utilization concepts to reduce Safety Stock requirements and reduction of Excess and Obsolete inventory. Work cross-functionally to foster a "Team" environment to maximize opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reductions. Education:

BA/BS required. Professional Certifications:

C.P.M., C.P.I.M. preferred. Experience:

5+ years' management experience in a manufacturing operation with experience in and/or responsibility for purchasing, supplier management and cost reduction activities. Travel:

Domestic travel to sites and suppliers is required (15%). Other Skills/Knowledge/Experience

Must be able to positively influence other functional areas to ensure process and policies are adhered to. Demonstrates strong leadership ability, vision, and innovative thinking. Technical/engineering competency & ability to read blueprints Experience working with advanced ERP / MRP systems as well as MS Office Software for analytical and financial analysis. Logistics experience with exposure to import-export requirements a plus. (Certificates of Origin)
