Transportation Engineer

HDR is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of a highway/roadway design team, you will work on moderate to large projects and independently on smaller projects. Responsibilities include: Preparing or overseeing roadway/highway design work using local or AASHTO standards Preparing and overseeing elements of contract plans, specifications, and estimates Assisting in the management of larger projects or managing smaller projects Managing day-to-day communication with clients, supporting junior engineers, and writing reports Performing other duties as needed Opportunities for growth include: Progressive project responsibility, including discipline leadership roles Collaboration on large transportation projects Exposure to key clients Supporting business development Preferred qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience in roadway engineering design Experience with OpenRoads 3D Corridor Modeling Experience working on VDOT, DDOT, MDTA, and/or MDSHA projects Excellent communication and leadership skills Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree Previous experience in roadway engineering design Professional Engineer (PE) license Hands-on experience with CAD engineering software Excellent communication and organizational skills HDR is committed to employment equity and is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
