Shelter & Stabilization Specialist

Complete Staffing Solutions Complete appropriate assessment(s) for each family, identifying issues pertaining to current and barriers to accessing and/or maintaining permanent housing. Complete all required documentation regularly entering information into the data management system including but not limited to capturing rapid re-housing efforts toward familyâ€s and EOHLCâ€s shelter placement and/or stabilization goals. Provide referral to appropriate program staff and community resources that will support families in accessing or maintaining housing. Engage with families appropriately to foster confidence and promote healthy behaviors and decision making, with the goal of families maintaining permanent housing. Work with team members to communicate needs and issues of shared assigned families to help re-housing plans progress and/or meet stabilization goals and outcomes. Notify Director(s) and proper authorities of any violence or threat to the health and safety of families in program and/or the neighbors of the facility(s). Participate in all on and off-site team meetings and case conferences with involved supportive services and program staff. Set an example for program families regarding responsibility, professionalism, self-respect and healthy boundaries. Participate in incident reporting as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Schedule
8:30am-4:30pm (Monday-Friday)
Responsibilities
Complete appropriate assessment(s) for each family, identifying issues pertaining to current and barriers to accessing and/or maintaining permanent housing. Complete all required documentation regularly entering information into the data management system including but not limited to capturing rapid re-housing efforts toward familyâ€s and EOHLCâ€s shelter placement and/or stabilization goals. Provide referral to appropriate program staff and community resources that will support families in accessing or maintaining housing. Engage with families appropriately to foster confidence and promote healthy behaviors and decision making, with the goal of families maintaining permanent housing. Qualifications
• 3+ years†experience working in Human Services, preferably in areas of homelessness and housing.
• Experience in 1 of the current EA roles is preferred; specifically-shelter case manager, shelter housing specialist/placement case manager and/or shelter stabilization case manager.
• Bilingual Spanish or Haitian-Creole is a plus
• Ability to work within a team
• Assertive communication skills- Ability to negotiate with landlords and Host Families on behalf of families served.
• A demonstrated ability to motivate, support, empower and advocate without judgment in working with families served.
• Ability to work professionally and effectively with community and state partners.
• Demonstrated computer skills and literacy. ETO and E2E skills preferred.
• CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to certify.
• Possess a valid Driverâ€s License and reliable vehicle.
Physical Requirements Or Essential Abilities
• A demonstrated ability to transport clients for advocacy and/or support.
• Ability to drive around the city in search of viable apartments and navigate multi-level properties with stairs
