I am currently seeking a highly experienced and commercially driven
Senior Crude Oil Trader
to join my clients Houston-based trading team. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to generate speculative P&L across both physical and paper barrels, with deep expertise in sour crude grades and Gulf Coast markets. Responsibilities
Execute speculative trades across physical and financial crude oil markets, with a focus on sour grades (e.g., TI/Brent, Brent/Dubai). Identify and capitalize on arbitrage opportunities, particularly in export markets and Mexican crude flows. Develop and maintain strong relationships with counterparties, suppliers, and logistics providers. Collaborate with analytics, operations, and risk teams to optimize trading strategies and manage exposures. Monitor market trends, geopolitical developments, and supply-demand dynamics to inform trading decisions. Qualifications
Proven track record of generating speculative P&L across both physical and paper crude oil barrels. Strong comfort and experience trading sour grades on a speculative basis. Deep familiarity with Gulf Coast crude markets (excluding MEH and Midland). Experience with export arbitrage strategies and Mexican crude markets. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment. Seniority level
