Scope Of Position

Manages, directs and coordinates overall plant operations to meet market requirements, plant and company objectives for safety, quality, delivery and cost. The Plant Manager role requires leadership and performance management for all aspects of the manufacturing operation, and collaborates with internal and external customers and suppliers as a stakeholder for processes and decisions related to plant performance.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations, standards of work, and development and achievement of plant and company goals including championing the safety culture and safety program, attaining quality specifications, achieving on time deliveries, and delivering on goals for cost management and cost reductions.

Provide leadership and support by coaching and developing managers and supervisors for standard work tools and staff training opportunities

Drive continuous improvement culture through productivity standards, root cause and failure analysis, and collaboration on implementation of process improvement opportunities

Provide site leadership, business recommendations, and coordination for capital improvement projects and plant growth goals

Develop schedules for labor, resource and equipment coordination to meet customer requirements and budgetary performance goals

Prepare and analyze operational performance reports including metrics and KPI's. Recommend and implement continuous improvement opportunities

Control production costs by setting production standards and implementing methods improvement and cost savings programs

Maintain product quality and yield objectives through development of repeatable and predictable manufacturing processes

Maintain production control systems for accurate reporting of materials and reduction of scrap and defects

Implement and maintain standards for safety, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping

Develop workforce planning scenarios and implement plans for labor budgeting, hiring, cross training, and shift schedules at regular intervals to support market demand

Knowledge/ Skills/ Experience/ Education

Bachelors degree

A minimum of 7 years of diversified manufacturing experience in progressive leadership roles

Experience with automation and implementation of new technologies and equipment for process improvement

Experience with plastics extrusion and plastics manufacturing operations or equivalent experience

Experience with modern ERP systems and ERP implementations

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct and support supervisors and team leads

Provide skill-building opportunities and cross-training for employees

Ensure transparent communication of company goals, operational changes, and performance results to supervisors and frontline employees

Travel: Yes, 10 % of the Time
