The Senior Project Manager will join JMT's Water Resources Department in Texas to lead projects and mentor junior staff. The Engineer will execute projects across Texas" geographical footprint working alongside staff in multiple locations. This position is open to candidates in JMT's Round Rock, Austin, or San Antonio offices.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Coordinate with clients, external team members, and internal team members to ensure project completion and quality of deliverables
Perform engineering designs and oversee/review the designs of junior staff
Assure quality control and oversee the development of design computations
Perform interdisciplinary reviews and coordination with the project team
Manage and oversee the completion of Schematic Impact reports and PS&E projects for complex H&H designs
Lead marketing efforts and client relations on behalf of JMT
Direct RFQ production as the Project Manager/Task Leader
Required Skills
Understanding of complex stormwater and drainage concepts
MicroStation and/or AutoCAD drafting experience
Strong oral and written communication skills for preparation of project reports
Ability to lead and serve as technical advisor in leading and training junior engineering staff
Ability to build client relationships
Candidates must be capable of working on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program
Texas Professional Engineer License or the ability to receive a License within 16 months of hire
15+ years of experience, including 7+ years of experience in drainage engineering
2+ years of design oversight and training junior staff
Experience in TxDOT drainage design for TxDOT transportation projects (or other DOTs)
Familiar with TxDOT Design Standards and TxDOT Drainage Manual
Experience with GEOPAK Drainage and HEC-RAS roadway drainage and stormwater management design
Experience Preferred
2-D HEC-RAS, SWMM, ARC-GIS experience preferred
Erosion and sediment control design preferred
Edwards Aquifer/TCEQ water quality design preferred
Familiarity with watersheds CLOMR/LOMR and FEMA floodplain mapping preferred
Working Conditions Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25-lbs) may be required as needed.
