Overview
The Deposit Operations Representative- IRA will perform multiple entry level functions and transactions in General Processing as well as IRA functions including but not limited to the following: processing a high volume of transactions focusing on IRA Services related to IRA calls, requests, quality review, decedent member processing, incoming member communications, new member applications, close accounts, returned mail and any new initiatives added. The Deposit Operations Representative - IRA will also be proficient at processing seasonal jobs related to tax reporting and escheatment.
Top Job Responsibilities
Fulfills member requests submitted through Activity Manager/Move.
Processes various account transactions which can include but not limited to posting payments, certificates of deposits, IRA deposits, decedent accounts, account inquiries, statement requests, and check copies, etc.
Fulfills IRA requests and inquiries submitted via Activity Manager
Must secure and maintain confidential member information
Processes IRA contributions, distributions, incoming and outgoing transfers and rollover requests
Opens new and modifies existing IRA and non IRA accounts via mail and online
Handles IRA mailed in requests and member calls
Provides quality assurance checks and feedback on IRA work processed internally at each partner Credit Union
Reviews documentation and processes decedent distributions in compliance with our partners’ guidelines and within the standards of Ascensus and the Internal Revenue Service
Reviews tax forms, researches IRA and non IRA transactions to make appropriate corrections for accurate reporting, under supervision
Maintains and process all W8s & W9s
Responsible for document management related to scanning and archiving member documentation
Updates member records and processes account maintenance requests
Meets or exceeds all SLAs defined for functions and processes
Generates and communicates ideas for process improvements and efficiencies
Understands and adheres to procedures and legal regulatory restrictions
Cross-trains for other functions in Deposit Operations and assumes additional responsibilities as required
Sound knowledge of internal control practices
Works in collaboration and partnership with other team members
Additional job-related projects and duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills
1 year of customer service, banking or financial experience preferred.
Understands the basic procedures and regulatory guidelines preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team and management as well as independently.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
