iENG Design is seeking a qualified professional to join our Virtual Design Construction (VDC) team as a VDC Specialist – Mechanical Pipe. Our ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience with Mechanical Pipe design and Fabrication. We begin with the end in mind, and we challenge everything. We take time to understand the project we want to deliver, including the owner's views, use of building, operation, and maintenance capabilities. We look at first cost v. operation cost v. life cycle cost. Every iENG project has a best value and best design---and that's what we deliver. Primary responsibilities include: Generating deliverables such as spool drawings/maps, installation drawings, and hanger maps. Collaborating with engineers, designers, and other team members to ensure accurate and efficient integration of piping systems within the overall building model. Designing and modeling piping systems based off P&IDs and existing models. Providing technical support to project teams by troubleshooting VDC-related issues and assisting with model revisions as needed. Developing hanger and supplemental steel layout and fabrication plans. Supporting the field and shop through the project lifecycle. Reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of modeling and design work, adhering to project specifications and standards. Primary qualifications include: An associate’s degree in applied science and/or equivalent relevant experience in CAD Drafting, engineering, construction management, or a similar field is preferred. Proficient with REVIT, AutoCAD, BIM360, Microsoft Teams, and Planner. Overall strong computer skills are expected. 5+ years of experience in mechanical piping design, VDC, or a related field. Willing to travel on an as needed basis. Ability to work within an environment with deadlines, and when tasked with multiple duties your attention to detail stays consistent. Strong work ethic and ability to work well with both a team and independently with minimal supervision. Ability to interpret and identify potential problems or risks and come up with creative solutions.
