Bridge Team Leader - Underwater Inspection Greenville, SC

Your Impact

Perform underwater evaluations of waterfront structures.

Ensure public safety through detailed assessments of bridge components and channel conditions below water.

Draft and review inspection reports to clearly convey findings to clients.

Perform routine maintenance on diving equipment in accordance with WSP’s Safe Diving Practices Manual.

Generate accurate and concise documentation regarding assigned aspects of the project.

Deliver responsibilities with a level of quality that meets or exceeds industry standards for equipment maintenance, diving safety, and inspection procedures.

Plan, schedule, and perform bridge inspections in compliance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) and OSHA regulations.

Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED.

9+ years of underwater bridge inspection experience.

Meet NBIS Underwater Team Leader requirements.

Certified Kirby Morgan Hat Technician.

Commercial Diving (ADCI) Certification.

Current USDOT physical.

ADCI medical examination within last 12 months.

Valid state driver’s license.

Physically capable of performing field work, including inclement weather, climbing slopes and ladders, carrying gear (up to 75 lbs), operating small boats, and using hand and power tools.

Competent interpersonal and communication skills.

Self‑leadership with attention to detail and ability to learn new techniques.

Ability to work independently under general supervision and as part of a team.

Frequent travel/overnight travel required depending on project location.

Must be able to work in the United States immediately.

Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and policy requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor’s degree.

Certified Guardian Full Face Mask Technician.

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Prior leadership experience.

ADCI Air‑diving Supervisor Certification.

Ability to work schedules beyond typical workweek.

Proficient in AutoCAD or MicroStation.
