About The Role
The IT Governance & Planning Manager serves as the central coordinator of project demand, resource management, and stakeholder engagement for the Division of Information Technology. Reporting to the Director of Program Management and Policy in the VPCIO Office, this role provides institution-wide visibility into IT project requests and staff capacity, ensures alignment with strategic priorities, and enforces compliance with division and university standards. The position also functions as the primary liaison between the PMO and departments, strengthening relationships, facilitating governance, and supporting long-range planning.

Preferred Qualifications
Six or more years of experience in IT or higher education environments.
Four or more years in progressively responsible roles in business, IT, or project management.
Demonstrated experience managing business relationships and engaging senior stakeholders.
Experience across the full project life cycle, from identification to completion.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Strong knowledge of project portfolio management principles, IT resource planning, and governance practices.
Experience building relationships and engaging with executives, business unit leaders, and technical staff.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills; ability to balance competing demands for resources.
High degree of political acumen, empathy, and adaptability in stakeholder engagement.
Familiarity with ServiceNow or other PPM tools.
Analytical ability to monitor portfolio performance and assess resource utilization.
Knowledge of project/program management methodologies (PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent).
