Overview The Specialty Process Supervisor is responsible for assuring the efficient and economical refining of raw sugar and the production of various specialty and liquid products according to established standards. In this role, the candidate will supervise a work force of 20-25 employees in a unionized environment.
Responsibilities
Directs all activities of the refining process of cane sugar and the receipt of liquid materials
Achieves standard production rates while maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulatory guidelines
Must ensure quality standards are met while also maintaining efficient use of energy, water, air, and electric power
Promotes the safe operation of all processing equipment and actively participates in the facility safety program
Leads assigned teams in the continuous improvement process
Work Experiences
A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a chemical processing, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing plant in process/production operations, supervision, or equivalent military experience
Demonstrated success in leading operational excellence and continuous improvement efforts
Experience in a unionized setting is preferred
Education Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
Supervisory Responsibility
Will supervise a work force of 20-25 union hourly employees
Essential Capabilities (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Attributes)
Ability to train others
Must possess quantifiable leadership skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work overtime and rotating shifts if needed
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
Knowledge of SAP
