We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural Engineer to join our forensic structural engineering team. This is a permanent position offering career growth opportunities and the chance to work on exciting and challenging projects. On-site in Shelton, CT. Responsibilities
Conduct thorough structural analysis using advanced software and tools to assess the integrity and strength of existing structures. Perform forensic engineering investigations to determine the cause of structural failures, accidents, or damage, and provide recommendations for remediation. Design and develop innovative and efficient structural solutions for new construction projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to develop comprehensive structural plans and specifications. Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, identify potential issues, and ensure adherence to approved plans and specifications. Review and approve shop drawings, calculations, and other technical documents prepared by contractors and subcontractors. Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and technical documentation to communicate findings, recommendations, and design solutions to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and apply best practices to improve project outcomes and processes. Collaborate with the project management team to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high quality standards. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in the construction industry. Strong knowledge of structural analysis using software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or similar. Proven expertise in forensic engineering, with the ability to investigate and analyze structural failures and accidents. Proficiency in designing and analyzing structural systems (steel, concrete, wood). Solid understanding of codes and standards (ACI, AISC, ASCE, IBC). Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences. Ability to work collaboratively in a team or independently. Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable or the ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe.
