The Lead Veterinarian provides high-quality care to patients while developing rapport with owners. In addition to physical examinations, surgeries, and dentistry, client communication and education are essential. Treat each pet and client like part of the family. Description
Responsible for ongoing evaluation and management of clinical practices and the delivery of patient care. Monitor associate doctor performance and production. Partner with the hospital manager to drive financial performance including revenue generation and expense management. Explain physical examination findings, diagnose, present treatment plans, and educate clients on preventative care, vaccines, and nutrition. Maintain medical/surgical records and essential logs; assist colleagues in follow-up and future management. Stay up-to-date with new medical information and Continuing Education. Support development of the paraprofessional team to ensure high-quality care and exceptional client service. Represent the hospital positively in the professional community and to the public. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university Licensure in good standing to practice in the applicant’s state 3+ years of leadership/management experience, preferred 3+ years of experience as a veterinarian, required Professional comportment and appearance with excellent interpersonal skills Ability to lead the team through a variety of cases Respect for and willingness to work with clients and their pets Compassionate team player who upholds a strong reputation with clients Commitment to the highest standard of medicine and veterinary ethics Must be proficient in surgery Your Benefits
