Overview The UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (HDFCCC), or Cancer Center, combines basic science, clinical research, epidemiology/cancer control and patient care from throughout the University of California, San Francisco system.

Responsibilities

Provide glass washing and autoclaving services for wet lab researchers at the UCSF Mt. Zion Cancer Research Building and Helen Diller Building.

Approximately 10% of time supporting shared services such as booking conference rooms, distributing mail, stocking break rooms, preparing purchase requisitions, and submitting work order requests online.

Other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Placement within the salary range depends on work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

Salary : $19.43 - $22.49 hourly

Qualifications

Graduation from high school or a GED and one year of laboratory experience or two years of college including courses in the natural, physical or social sciences; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to operate industrial glass wash and autoclave machines, including calculating correct temperatures and times.

Experience with Microsoft Word and basic Excel.

Systematic, organized, able to plan work in advance.

Ability to exercise good judgment and professionalism in interacting appropriately with customers across all levels.

Demonstrated good attendance and an approachable, helpful personality.

Demonstrated experience delivering excellent customer service.

Ability to read, write and speak English and respond to emails with correct grammar.

Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects to timely completion.

Preferred Qualifications

College graduate with work experience.

Previous experience in a research lab setting helpful.
