Summary of Job Duties:

Join our team as a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) at the UAMS BHSL Northwest Outpatient Clinic in Fayetteville, AR! The PRN RN plays a pivotal role in providing direct patient care within the interdisciplinary team. This dynamic position focuses on delivering high-quality care, integrating evidence-based research and theory into clinical practice, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the Behavioral Health Service Line. The RN collaborates with the team to ensure comprehensive patient care, seeks and provides feedback to enhance clinical practices, and provides leadership to maintain patient care standards. Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager (CSM), the RN also supports a safe and supportive environment for both patients and staff.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, or Master’s Degree in Nursing

Minimum One (1) year of Registered Nurse experience

Current and valid Registered Nurse License in the State of Arkansas

Employee must successfully complete a UAMS-sponsored conflict management training to identify, prevent, and mitigate disruptive behaviors using methods such as non-escalation, de-escalation, personal protection from physical assaults, and physical alternatives within six months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two (2) or more years of Registered Nurse experience

Prior experience in behavioral health, mental health, or a related specialty preferred.

Current BLS

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

Clinical Expertise: Proficiency in providing direct patient care in a behavioral health setting.

Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with patients and the healthcare team.

Leadership: Capability to guide and support the nursing team.

Critical Thinking: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Basic computer skills, strong work ethic, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver effective direct care to a variety of patients.

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Seek and provide feedback to improve clinical practices.

Integrate theory and research into daily clinical practice.

Provide leadership to the nursing team to maintain patient care standards.

Assist in maintaining a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff.
