Responsibilities
University Behavioral Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), is committed to providing intensive mental health services to children, adolescents and adults as well as detox and substance abuse programs for adults. Our mental health facility provides safe and effective inpatient treatment to assist individuals in leading more productive and fulfilling lives. The facility is located on a beautiful 14-acre campus in Orlando, Florida, and includes 112 licensed beds. We are currently seeking qualified professionals with active/clear license in the state of Florida. Previous experience in a psychiatric facility or rehabilitation program is required.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Staff Educator (RN) is responsible for promoting, planning, designing, coordinating, and evaluating training and educational activities for both clinical and non-clinical staff.
Duties
Coordinating with nursing service to design, evaluate, plan, present, and review educational programs to meet the needs of orientation, in-service education, and continuing education of hospital personnel
Completing all nursing education in required time frames and ensuring compliance with all standards of practice and regulatory requirements; implements education as needed to improve and enhance nursing practice within the hospital
Coordinating and training existing employees on new policies and procedures
Coordinating and training RN new hires on the units, monitoring and documenting progression during the first year of hire
Performing the re‑training required for staff performance improvement plans as assigned by unit managers
Participating in the selection of audiovisual and other resources
Providing records of general hospital orientation and mandatory in‑service attendance to CNO/ACNO
Operating as an alternate Infection Control Nurse when needed to provide appropriate care to patients
Scheduling monthly hospital‑required in‑services and following up with employees and managers to maintain compliance
Schedule Requirements
Priority will be Staff Educator but will be reassigned in staffing if critical staffing is an issue

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Current RN license in the State of Florida
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a psychiatric setting
Previous experience in nursing education or staff development preferred

Qualifications
Registered Nurse – Active license in the State of Florida
Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in a psychiatric setting
