Position Description:
The Department of Pathology at The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine seeks candidates for an Assistant, Associate or Professor position on either the tenure track or non-tenure clinical track to take part in an active forensic and autopsy pathology service with or without surgical pathology or other areas of pathology.
This position will sustain forensic pathologist availability in SE Iowa and the new faculty member will also have an appointment as a Medical Examiner for Johnson County, IA.
Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.
Education Requirement:
MD or equivalent
Forensic pathology fellowship training with board certification (or "board eligible")
Graduation from an accredited Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology residency program
Certifications:
Board certified or board eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology with the credentials required to obtain a medical license in the State of Iowa
Desirable Qualifications:
Highly Desirable Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to excel at teaching and scholarship
Demonstrated interest in family consent autopsies
Additional training/interest in another subspecialty area of pathology
