Overview

Mammography Technologist position at Westwood Medical Pavilion - West. Direct patient care with all mammography procedures: screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast stereotactic biopsies, needle localizations, and other interventional procedures related to the breast. Responsibilities And Essential Job Functions

Act as a mentor and trainer to new employees and students; assist clerical and nursing staff as needed. Assist with contacting and following up with patients, tracking information for performance improvement, and ensuring that the reporting radiologist has all necessary information; educate patients about breast center exams and procedures. Provide safe and efficient patient care. Maintain compliance with MQSA, FDA regulations, ACR requirements, and Kansas licensure. Maintain up-to-date licensing and credentials including CPR; failure to do so may result in disciplinary action or termination. Complete mandatory educational assignments as directed by supervisor. Maintain a clean and safe work environment; perform hand hygiene and sterile techniques as applicable. May assist other medical staff with patient support as needed. Perform direct patient care for breast imaging exams/procedures; prepare reports and department materials using office and breast imaging software. Use breast imaging equipment per manufacturer guidelines and demonstrate professional, clinical, and technical competencies of the unit. Note: Other duties may be assigned as required. Required Education And Experience

High School Graduate Graduate of an accredited Radiology technologist program Preferred Education And Experience

1 or more years of experience in Mammography Required Licensure And Certification

Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT) - Kansas Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA) Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) Mammography (M) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Knowledge Requirements
