Regional Clinical Coordinator, (Psychologist IV)

Base pay range $101,581.48/yr - $169,508.04/yr This position is with the Massachusetts Department of Youth Services. The actual pay will be based on skills and experience. Overview

The Department of Youth Services (DYS) is seeking a dynamic, licensed Psychologist to fill the role of the Regional Clinical Coordinator – Southeast Region. Duties and Responsibilities

Direct the psychological services provided to youth in the care of DYS in the Southeast Region, including diagnostic evaluations, counseling services, treatment planning, and crisis intervention and planning. Ensure access and coordination of behavioral health services for youth in the community and assigned to the Department’s District Offices. Oversee the psychological needs of detained or committed youth in the Southeast Region through supervision of Clinical Directors, review of critical incident data, development of treatment plans for high-profile youth, and referrals for specialized services (e.g., forensic evaluations, sex offender-specific treatment). Evaluate assessment needs by reviewing intake and screening processes to ensure consistency with DYS policies. Analyze counseling services across detention, secure treatment sites, and residential programs to determine efficacy and consistency of service delivery. Provide training to DYS clinical and administrative staff on topics such as DBT, suicide prevention, sex offender and violent offender treatment, and family counseling services. Develop and maintain interagency collaborations with other state agencies to develop resources for DYS youth. Assist Community Reentry Staff in linking with Mass Health Payers and Network Providers to ensure access to behavioral health services. Provide annual reports to the Regional Director and Director of Clinical Services with recommendations for program and policy improvements. Required Qualifications

Proficient in psychotherapy and developmental psychology with various therapeutic techniques. Strong counseling, interviewing, and motivation techniques; ability to identify mental and emotional disorders. Understanding of psychological research, including basic statistical methods. Experience with tests and measurements (e.g., WAIS, WISC, Rorschach, Thematic Apperception Test); ability to administer, score, and interpret tests. Effective communication under stress and ability to supervise, plan, and evaluate staff performance. Preferred Qualifications

Experience treating juvenile/adult offenders in residential settings; crisis stabilization expertise. Knowledge of juvenile justice law, DBT, and CBT; experience with female adolescents. Clinical Psychology Licensure; strong organizational and written/oral communication skills. Ability to develop individualized treatment plans using a full range of modalities. Substance abuse assessment training and Suicide Prevention/Intervention knowledge; proficiency with Microsoft Office. Special Requirements

Valid License in Clinical Psychology. Minimum Age: 21 years. Ability to perform physical requirements including restraint, if necessary; may require travel and a valid MA driver’s license when applicable. Upon hire, must maintain certification in crisis intervention, suicide prevention, CPR, AED, and first aid. Working Conditions

Exposure to verbal and/or physical confrontations and potentially dangerous environments. May be required to restrain youth and work extended hours, nights, holidays, or weekends. In-state and potentially out-of-state travel may be required. Schedule

8:45 AM – 5:00 PM; Saturday and Sunday off Pre-hire and Pre-offer Process

Pre-Hire: Drug screening, psychological screening, medical examination, and Physical Abilities Test (PAT). Pre-Offer: Criminal background check required by regulations prior to hiring. Minimum Entrance Requirements

Doctorate in Psychology from a school accredited by the American Psychological Association. At least three years of full-time (or equivalent) professional experience as a Licensed Psychologist; at least one year of supervision over Post-doctoral Psychologists-in-training and/or Psychological Assistants. Current and valid licensure as a Psychologist by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Psychology; eligibility for designated forensic psychologist if required by assignment. Travel may be required; valid MA driver’s license or equivalent may be required. Salary placement based on experience and education; for bargaining unit positions, subject to applicable collective bargaining agreement.
