Responsibilities

Perform delegated activities related to patient care and team support in the GI procedure room setting under supervision of a physician or nurse. Assist with direct patient care during procedures and with equipment used during colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, and other ancillary procedures in Mayo Clinic endoscopy procedural areas. Support multiple patient care roles outside the procedure room, including recovery and endoscope reprocessing rooms, and maintain competency in endoscope reprocessing and high-level disinfection. Function in a dynamic environment with changing daily assignments; prioritize patient care and teamwork; follow established procedure guidelines; troubleshoot equipment as needed. Actively participate in at least two functions/roles as determined by the Nurse Manager or work unit assignment, such as Quality Assurance Auditor, Ancillary Practice, Education/Practice/Research Role, or Advanced Therapeutic Practice. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of two years of Endoscopy Technician II experience (or equivalent). Outside GI Endoscopy procedural experience considered; however, one year of experience as an Endoscopy Tech II at Mayo Clinic is required. A 2-year commitment to Endoscopy is required. Maintain competency in Tech I and Tech II roles. Knowledge of multiple electronic applications (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams) and knowledge of surgical or central service functions, IV cannulation, phlebotomy, and GI endoscopy equipment/procedures. Ability to work independently or as part of a team; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to adapt to unpredictable situations and prioritize tasks. Willingness to support change and innovation; ability to work flexible hours to meet unit demands. Licenses & Certifications

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required within 60 days of hire and maintain BCLS competency. Exemption Status

Compensation range is $22.83 - $32.71 per hour, depending on experience. Benefits eligible: Yes Schedule: Full Time Hours/Pay Period: 72 Schedule Details: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts, daytime hours; no nights, weekends, or holidays. Site Description & Equal Opportunity
