ColonialWebb is hiring a Quality Control Inspector/Certified Welding Inspector. This will play a key role in driving project excellence by ensuring all work meets required codes, standards, regulations, equipment specifications, and CWI guidelines. This position not only safeguards quality compliance, but also actively contributes to performance improvement and continuous quality advancement. From fabrication to inspection, documentation, and operations, the Quality Specialist/CWI champions the successful implementation of the CWI program at every stage.

A day in the life:
Conduct/supervise welding qualification testing in accordance with ASME Section IX and/or AWS D1.1 requirements
Conduct ultrasonic testing (UT) of welds in accordance with ASNT Level 2 certification and applicable
Identify problems, recommend solutions to address recurring welding quality issues
Work closely with management and supervision to instill quality in our employees
Maintain welder qualification records using an in-house tracking system
Conduct welding inspection prior to, during, and after welding in accordance with applicable codes and standards
Coordinate scheduling of non-destructive testing by outside contractors
Assist other Quality Control Inspectors with inspections and testing in areas other than welding
You should have:
Certified Welding Inspector Certification and NDT Level II Visual Testing Certification Education
A high school diploma
Experience with quality assurance/quality control
Advanced understanding of product design, operation, and manufacturing processes
Computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Bluebeam, Revu, Outlook etc.
Knowledge of ANSI/AISC 360-16 Specification of Structural Steel Building, Chapter N (Quality Control and Quality Assurance).
Knowledge of ASME 31.1 & B31.9
