High Voltage (HV) Engineer
with a focus on power, energy, and renewables site design, optimization, and electrical engineering. This role is
remotely based with a preference in the Western US . You will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Scientists on planning, design, permitting, and implementation of diverse renewables projects, including solar, battery storage, substations, wind turbines, and transmission facilities. This is a full-time (40 hours/week), limited-term role for
12 months, extendable . Responsibilities:
Review and prepare high-voltage electrical designs including substations, switchyards, and transmission lines. Develop electrical schematics, power system studies, and technical specifications. Support construction, start-up, and commissioning activities. Prepare interconnection applications and technical reports. Conduct field investigations, oversee construction, and ensure quality assurance. Assist in business development and client proposals. Provide technical expertise on regulatory and technical issues in renewable energy projects. Requirements:
B.S./M.S. in Electrical Engineering, focus on power systems preferred. 10+ years of experience in electrical design, with emphasis on power systems and transmission. Proficiency with power system modeling software (e.g., PSS, PSCAD). Knowledge of industry codes (NEC, NESC, IEEE). Strong communication and leadership skills. Willingness to travel (~20%).
