Overview
Ayres Associates is seeking a Structural Engineer (Buildings) with 2 to 4 years of experience. This role offers remote or hybrid opportunities and the chance to join a respected structural engineering group that provides opportunities to work on a variety of projects. On Any Given Day, You Will
Design a wide variety of new buildings and modifications to existing buildings. Work under the supervision of senior structural engineering staff to design and prepare plans for buildings and other structures. Perform structural design and analysis of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structural elements utilizing structural design software. Prepare and review structural drawings and details. Research and apply code requirements. Prepare technical reports and specifications for buildings and other structures. Responsibilities may include assisting with structural condition assessments and construction observation, potentially requiring sporadic short-term (typically 1-3 days) out of town travel and overnight stays. Required Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification with commitment to pursue PE licensure. Valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Desired Skills And Experiences
Good communication and listening skills. Minimum of 2 years of building design experience. Design experience in a variety of building types and materials. Strong knowledge of building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318, etc.). Proficiency in a structural analysis software (RISA, RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, SAP2000, or similar). Proficiency in Mathcad and Microsoft Excel software. Experience with the production of structural construction documents. Proficiency in modeling structures and producing construction drawings with Revit beneficial, but not required. Working knowledge of seismic design beneficial, but not required. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. Self-motivated learner with a passion for advancing personal expertise in structural engineering.
