Position Specific Description
The Senior Automotive Engineer is responsible for developing vehicle and equipment specifications, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring quality standards throughout the procurement and delivery process to support NextEra Energy's fleet operations.\
Key Responsibilities
Work directly with equipment manufacturers and electric utility personnel to develop detailed vehicle and equipment specifications that will enhance safe work practices Visit equipment manufacturer facilities as needed to verify design specifications and product quality standards are met during the manufacturing process Develop multiple supplier resources to support competitive price bidding Manage new unit delivery to meet budget targets Conduct technical evaluations and testing of fleet equipment Collaborate with operations teams to ensure specifications align with field requirements Maintain vendor performance metrics and quality documentation Support fleet reliability initiatives through proactive design improvements
Ideal candidate will possess a Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree.

Tracks and reports on project performance Prepares communications, presentations, and conducts meetings Delivers standards, policies, training, and support of organization Researches, develops, and applies improvement measures Works on all aspects of engineering design and permitting Works with other departments within organization to establish customer requirements and project costs Meets attendance and storm duty requirements Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Valid Driver's License (NON CDL) Bachelor's - Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program Experience: 5+ years post-Bachelor’s degree in engineering
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Professional Engineer (PE) Six Sigma Black Belt Certified Six Sigma Green Belt Certified Master's Degree Six Sigma Master Black Belt
