Responsibilities
Set up lines prior to startup: mixing and hanging vaccine bags, placing boxes on line.
Check hatchers to determine pull order of chicks.
Monitor flock changes and maintain box counts; place boxes according to flock source for delivery to farm.
Count boxes per flock to calculate hatch percentage; write mortality cards, chick tickets, count boxes, and communicate load schedule for chick delivery to drivers and growers.
Complete daily breakouts of egg residue by flock.
Mix vaccine spray for cabinet and embrex inovo; maintain vaccine logs. Certified by Zoetis to mix vaccine and operate equipment. Perform daily/weekly vaccine inventories.
Perform weekly plate samples for sanitation scores and plate inventory.
Assign duties for production crew at shift start and supervise crew.
Monitor equipment and perform daily checks in production, separator, tray wash, setter halls, and hatcher halls.
Perform egg pack and moisture loss checks.
Wear all required PPE.
Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching required. Lifting up to 50 lbs. Work in cold, damp, or hot humid environments with slippery surfaces.
May be assigned other duties by management.
Qualifications
Experience in hatchery operations and vaccine handling.
Zoetis certification for vaccine mixing and equipment operation.
Ability to perform physical tasks; reasonable accommodation acceptable.
Excellent communication and supervisory skills.
Biosecurity/Animal Welfare/Safety
Jobsite is biosecure; requires showering, changing clothing, footwear before entering. No jewelry except medical ID. Must sign agreement to avoid avian species and comply with company biosecurity and animal welfare guidelines.
Rehire Criteria Minimum waiting period of 180 days. No more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods.
