HVAC Controls Engineer – (Engineering Consulting)
We are seeking an HVAC Controls Engineer/Project Manager in NYC. Responsibilities include BAS systems integration, optimization, and full system replacements, covering project financials, administration, implementation, management, and customer satisfaction within Commercial HVAC Controls/Building Automation. You will lead the project team, act as the contact for all stakeholders, and handle multi-building or complex controls projects. Additionally, you will mentor team members and serve as an HVAC controls expert for the business.
Responsibilities
Develop custom energy reporting, power metering, trending, and billing programs.
Produce drawings, sequences of operation, and bills of material of building automation systems for submission to project Engineers/teams.
Develop BMS software databases (programming and graphics) in accordance with engineering documents and project specifications.
Design, integrate and support network migration for Internet / Ethernet / BACnet / Modbus platforms.
Maintain accurate As-Built drawing package and make changes in AutoCAD, Visio, Excel and Word as required.
Visit the field as necessary to adjust design sequences to operate correctly with the actual system(s) and remain on site as necessary to complete functional checkout and commissioning activities in support of technicians to meet project schedules.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in EE, ME, CE, Math or Physics.
Niagara / BACnet experience REQUIRED
Strong interest in building automation and controls required.
Minimum 4 years’ experience in the HVAC/controls industry
DDC controller programming, third party device integration with BACnet and Modbus preferred.
Experience with mechanical system operation.
Basic understanding of the construction process preferred.
Strong communication, negotiating and organizational skills.
Competency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Automated Logic WebCTRL experience a plus.
