Electrical Project Engineer – Georgia‑Pacific LLC Join our Toledo, OR mill as an Electrical Project Engineer. This role focuses on electrical, instrumentation, and controls support for project engineers in a fully integrated brown paper production operation.

Responsibilities

Provide electrical engineering subject‑matter expertise to project managers, process controls engineers, maintenance, and reliability teams.

Produce electrical and instrumentation design packages for small mill engineering projects.

Coordinate additional outside electrical engineering as needed to support larger projects.

Support the mill’s electrical power distribution engineer with troubleshooting and maintenance of power systems.

Project‑manage small electrical‑based engineering projects, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and construction management.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on electrical and instrumentation reliability.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.

Three (3) or more years of electrical design of power, instrumentation, and controls in an industrial environment, including power distribution and control systems.

Experience creating and modifying electrical AutoCAD drawings.

Project‑management experience in an industrial setting.

Preferred Experience

Experience in pulp and paper manufacturing technology and systems.

Five or more years as an electrical engineer in a heavy industrial environment.

Experience with valves and instrumentation specifications.

Knowledge of three‑phase power distribution, variable‑frequency drives, AC/DC drives, and PLCs.

Experience with reliability‑improvement tools such as RCFA and preventive maintenance.

Proficient use of Microsoft Project.

Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
