Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a Senior Battle Management and Fire Control Engineer in Huntsville, AL. This role leads a technical team in developing an end-to-end simulation of a Space-Based Interceptor (SBI) weapon system, defining requirements, exploring performance, and aiding in the development of the fire control function element, algorithms, and interfaces for the weapon system. Job Description

Develop, mature, and manage an end-to-end SBI Weapons System simulation framework with aiding elements (e.g. terrestrial radar, overhead sensors, communications networks). Integrate GFI or other vendor models into the simulation framework. Develop data sets of test cases to stimulate the complete architecture of supporting elements. Conduct requirement analysis and trade studies. Determine system performance and timing. Collaborate and aid in the development of Fire Control Element algorithms and interfaces. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders from prime partner, adjacent element contractors, and Government. Responsibilities

Must have a Master’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or physics and 15+ years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 20+ years of experience in technical leadership. Must have at least 10 years of experience in development of missile defense weapon systems with knowledge in some of the following areas: RF and IR supporting sensors, battle management concepts, target discrimination, interceptors, communications, space environments, and system latencies. Modeling and simulation experience with large-scale, physics-based simulations. Knowledge of Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE). Desired Qualifications

Experience with Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) and Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) systems preferred. Team staffing experience preferred. PhD in engineering, mathematics, or physics preferred. Security Requirements

Active DoW Secret Security clearance, and ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. DoW Top Secret clearance preferred. Travel Requirements

Minimal travel; 10% or less. If travel is required, candidate must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate identification credentials (e.g., REAL ID). Physical Requirements

Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Able to sit and work on a computer for long periods. Moving about to accomplish tasks or move between worksites.
