Overview
Field Service Engineer role at GE Additive are supported by Colibrium Additive, a leading global 3D printing solutions innovator. This position involves developing and maintaining strong relationships with customer representatives, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining equipment models specific to a modality or modalities in the Americas Region. This field service role supports customers across parts of the US, Central and South America as needed. The role is based out of Auburn, Alabama; West Chester, OH; Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; or Dallas, TX with travel expectations up to 100% (Road Warrior). Responsibilities
Install, perform preventive maintenance, and repair Colibrium additive manufacturing machines. Work on a team or individually to complete field service activities that keep customer production machines operating at peak performance, meeting production schedules, and complying with quality and industry standards. Perform total system level troubleshooting on complex multi-symptom problems. Collaborate with Service and Additive engineering teams to resolve mechanical, electrical, electronic, and/or process problems on customer machines. Assist in site preparation, coordinating labor and materials with minimal supervision. Document all work using computer-based service reporting procedures. Maintain quality systems and programs according to GE Aerospace Service Quality Policy Statement. Complete all administration tasks on time (e.g., Service Bulletins and PM documentation for assigned accounts). Maintain daily interface with customer technicians on equipment status to ensure customer satisfaction. Required Qualifications
B.Sc. Engineering / Associate degree and 2 years technical experience, or High School Diploma and 5 years field service or electrical/mechanical technician experience, or equivalent military experience. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as business requires. Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed. Proficiency to troubleshoot at subsystem and system level using structured problem-solving techniques. Initiative, high standards, motivation and outside-the-box thinking. Ability to work well with limited direction and information; ongoing effort to maintain current technology knowledge. Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills. Strong customer skills and ability to influence with tact and effectiveness. Military experience is equivalent to professional experience. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
