The AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS) team shapes the digital transformation necessary for our treatments to positively impact patients lives. In the role of Technology Product Engineer – Hypertargeting Solutions, you’ll tackle complex challenges as you develop and diversify your professional experiences while helping others grow and develop their skills.
Responsibilities
Lead conception, design, engineering, and implementation of technology solutions by studying business needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and business processes, investigating problem areas, routinely demonstrate initiative and creativity in leading technology solutions.
Lead projects/programs and technical staff to develop, test and implement significant new products, or operational improvements.
Analyze and resolve business problems through technology, using analytical problem‑solving methods/techniques and associated tools.
Contribute to advancement of own function by studying state‑of‑the‑art tools, techniques, and computing equipment; participate in educational opportunities and professional organizations.
Enforce and expand use of AbbVie Common Data Model and industry‑standard information descriptions (ontologies, taxonomies, vocabularies, lexicons, dictionaries, thesauri, glossaries, etc.).
Manage technology portfolio products such as Audience Builder and NBA Suggestions which support our Customer Engagement model and Marketing Automation strategy through definition of customer segmentation and personalization strategies.
Responsible for planning and overseeing a portfolio of technology products from ideation to operation; including securing cross‑functional alignment on project scope, benefits, cost, and timeline. Expected to work effectively across various IT shared services teams, external agencies, and other commercial business stakeholders.
Proactively understand the business strategies and the technology needs of the business. Identify current and emerging business needs and evaluate technology solutions to balance short‑term and long‑term objectives. Understand both data and technology capabilities already in use across AbbVie and recommend appropriate application within their product portfolio.
Lead the creation of data and technology roadmaps to support the strategic needs of their product. Ensure alignment between evolving business needs and corporate technology strategies within our technology ecosystem. Propose, initiate, and lead programs that transform processes or technology capabilities.
Lead engagement with business teams to define and implement products strategies aligned with business goals.
Leverage products within portfolio to create personalized experiences across various channels and touchpoints.
Continuously optimize personalization strategies based on data analysis and performance metrics.
Tools and Skills
Palantir Foundry Audience Builder and NBA Suggestions.
Salesforce Marketing Cloud for automated customer journey.
Exposure to Adobe Experience Manager (Web Portals), Veeva CRM, Mass‑email and other channels.
ServiceNow, JIRA, Mural Boards for handling SDLC processes.
Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.).
Highly autonomous and productive in performing activities, requiring only minimal direction from or interaction with supervisor.
Provide technical leadership and mentor and consult with less experienced staff in planning, methods, procedures, standards, and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, data analytics or a related field with 6+ years experience.
Proven experience in data management (preferably Palantir Foundry) and marketing automation technology platform (preferably Salesforce Marketing Cloud) in designing and implementing data management processes and automated customer journeys technology solution across digital channels.
Strong understanding of customer and interaction data, marketing automation principles and best practices.
Proficiency in configuring and managing customer journeys in Salesforce Marketing Cloud’s Journey Builder.
Proficiency in using technology tools and platforms for data analysis and segmentation (e.g., CRM systems, data analytics tools, marketing automation platforms).
Strong experience with data science, personalization and segmentation capabilities via any customer profile tool.
Familiarity with data analytics and reporting tools to measure and optimize customer journey performance.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Ability to independently manage time and priorities.
Preferred
Experience with Python coding, database modeling, database query.
Experience with Veeva CRM, digital channels (mass email, messaging, web portals, etc.) or other digital tools.
Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications (e.g., Marketing Cloud Email Specialist, Marketing Cloud Consultant) are a plus.
Understanding/expertise in definition and implementation of digital strategies for pharmaceutical/healthcare industry.
Experience managing an IT investment budget of $250K to $1M.
