The Radiation Therapist is responsible for administration of ionizing radiation for therapeutic purposes in accordance with the prescription of the Radiation Oncologist and is accountable for the simulation of patients in preparation of radiation therapy, basic patient care and education.

As a Radiation Therapist at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care. With the opening of the new 12,000-square-foot center, Holy Rosary Cancer Center now offers radiation oncology services in addition to medical and surgical oncology services to address the needs of cancer patients in rural eastern Montana. The project eliminates distance and access barriers to care for the people living in the region. Before opening the new center, patients needing radiation oncology treatment may have had to travel long distances to receive that care, potentially impacting their treatment plans and outcomes. The new center is the only comprehensive cancer center within a 125-mile radius.

Role
As a Radiation Therapist at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:
Interprets and implements prescription and treatment plan. Delivers and charts all simulation and treatment summaries. Performs simulation procedures, prepare immobilization devices. Obtains accurate measurements, contours, and other information as needed for dosimetry purposes. Assess treatment machines and perform daily equipment warm-up and quality assurance procedures. Assists in clinical training and evaluation of student therapists if applicable. Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills. Responsible for basic patient care during treatment delivery, assists with patient education, observes and monitors day-to-day clinical progress of patients for signs of treatment symptoms. Provides accurate daily billing information for all treatment related procedures. Responsible for scheduling and treating patients in a timely and professional manner.

Minimum Qualifications
Radiology Tech License in the state of practice Certification in Radiation Therapy from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers

Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
