Conduct investigations into claims of abuse, neglect, or malpractice.
Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
Attend court hearings, depositions, and trials.
Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
Provide legal counsel regarding clients' rights and options.
Collaborate with medical experts and other professionals to build strong cases.
Stay current with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Advise nursing home and assisted living facility administrators on compliance issues.
Advocate for policy changes to improve the quality of care in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
Experience in elder law, personal injury, medical malpractice, or a related field; demonstrated experience handling cases involving nursing home or assisted living facility residents.
Strong understanding of federal and state regulations governing nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines; high attention to detail and organizational skills.
Compassionate and empathetic approach to client service; proficient in legal research and use of legal research databases.
Strong negotiation and advocacy skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
