We are currently seeking a
Forensic Pathologist
who is board‑certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). Experience in trauma and disease processes is preferred. This individual will be part of the Biomechanics Practice and will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing detailed medical expert analysis and conclusions.
Responsibilities
Rendering medical expert opinions including injury causation analyses and evaluation of pathologic natural disease processes
Evaluating complex events involving high severity and potential demise
Detailed review of provided antemortem and postmortem information, such as autopsy findings, medical records, radiology, photographs, laboratory tests, and investigative reports
Clearly communicating medical findings and opinions to a variety of audiences, including technical experts, attorney clients, and lay stakeholders
Preparing detailed expert State and Federal reports and opinion disclosures as required
Participating in teleconferences with stakeholders and clearly verbally communicating findings to non‑medical individuals
Testifying as an expert medical witness in civil, state, and federal court proceedings
Maintaining continuing AMA Category 1 medical education credits
Effectively working in a multidisciplinary environment as a member of a team
Adhering to required internal quality assurance practices regarding project engagements and work product
Qualifications
Graduation from a United States LCME accredited college or university with a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, or completed USMLE process
Board‑certified as described by the ABMS
Preference for described and accepted qualifications by the ABMS in Forensic and Anatomic Pathology, Emergency Medicine, or a trauma‑related specialty
Hold a current, active, unrestricted state medical license from within the United States
Knowledge base shall be commensurate with the position responsibility
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Effective and appropriate leadership skills and the ability to interact with a wide variety of professionals, including engineers, scientists, technical managers, external clients, and administrative staff
Familiarity with medicolegal‑type subject matter including wrongful death and negligence is desirable
Medicolegal awareness involving pain and suffering is desirable
A history of professional role‑related testifying in trial and depositions is desirable
Open to full‑or part‑time consideration
Benefits Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. At the Manager level and above, total compensation includes base salary, annual bonus, and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary. The base salary range for this position will be assessed during the interview process.
