Job Summary The Radiation Therapist II (PRN) is a skilled clinical professional responsible for delivering prescribed radiation treatments safely and accurately, collaborating across the care team to ensure optimal outcomes and a seamless patient experience. This position provides the flexibility of PRN scheduling while maintaining a high standard of clinical practice. Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions • Deliver radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by Radiation Oncologists, ensuring strict adherence to patient-specific plans.• Accurately follow treatment parameters as determined during simulation and planning sessions.• Coordinate care by interacting effectively with all members of the Oncology Radiation Treatment team and other departments.• Precept new team members, offering guidance on departmental policies, computer systems, and treatment techniques.• Participate in weekend and holiday on-call rotations as needed.• Maintain accurate documentation related to treatments, patient well-being, and billing.• Reinforce patient education, particularly regarding nutrition and side effect management.• Promptly report equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions to leadership.• Stay informed and compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to ionizing radiation.• Demonstrate knowledge and skills in a wide range of therapy modalities including teletherapy, brachytherapy (HDR/LDR), radiosurgery, and stereotactic radiotherapy.• Exhibit flexibility in work hours to accommodate department and patient needs.• Contribute to community outreach and educational initiatives as part of our commitment to whole-person care.• Provide age-appropriate care tailored to each patient’s specific needs. Qualifications
Education/Training Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program Licensure/Certification • ARRT registered in Radiation Therapy• Maintains License in the State of Florida• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification Experience Minimum of one (1) year experience in Radiation Therapy
