Location: Facility in Pittsfield, Massachusetts Company: Fusion Medical Staffing Position: Travel Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
Type: Travel assignment, 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
Valid Speech Language Pathologist License in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology
Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology
Speech Language Pathology experience; new grads are welcome to apply
Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
Summary The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages. They develop and implement individualized treatment plans to enhance speech, language, and cognitive-communication abilities, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and caregivers to improve outcomes and quality of life.
Essential Work Functions
Evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders using standardized assessments and clinical observation
Design and implement personalized therapy programs based on evaluations and patient goals
Assess progress, adjust treatment plans, and maintain documentation in the electronic medical record
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, home exercises, and safe swallowing practices
Collaborate with interdisciplinary health care teams to coordinate care
Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control and regulatory standards
Participate in quality assurance and professional development to stay current with best practices
Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
Required Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; PC skills
Physical: able to remain stationary, move equipment, and assist with procedures
Interpersonal: ability to work with a variety of personnel
Mental: able to work under supervision occasionally and manage deadlines
Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication
