Overview

Medical Technologist - Critical Care Laboratory position in the Critical Care Laboratory (CCL). The CCL provides comprehensive, time-sensitive laboratory services to a variety of diagnoses and admission/discharge criteria and operates 24 hours a day to service OSUWMC inpatient areas, the University Reference Laboratory, and OSU Physician Office testing needs. Responsibilities

Perform routine automated and manual laboratory procedures. Verify and report test requests; troubleshoot analyzers and test methods. Review quality control values and results. Handle phone inquiries from internal and external customers; call critical value results; problem-solve pre-analytical issues. Work under the direction of division directors, managers, and lead technologists. Minimum Education and Qualifications

4-year college degree or higher from a NAACLS-accredited program or equivalent. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with ASCP/AMT, MT or MLS Medical Board Certification is required. Certification is a condition of employment; if not certified, the applicant must obtain MLS certification within 1 year of hire, with the first board of certification test attempt within the first six months of hire. If applicable, Medical Laboratory Technicians with an Associate of Science from an appropriate program will be considered for the title of Med Lab Tech- Testing. Desired and Additional Information
