Licensed Veterinary Technician
to join our team! Compensation:
$22-27/hr. Increases with Commensurate Experience! Location:
2010 Camp McDonald Rd Mount Prospect, IL 60056 Shift Details:
This is a full time position (30+ hours/week) with 4-10 hour shifts available and 1-2 Saturdays/month (8a-2p). Clinic Hours: Monday: 8:00am - 7:00pm Tuesday: 8:00am - 7:00pm Wednesday: 8:00am - 5:00pm Thursday: 8:00am - 7:00pm Friday: 8:00am - 6:00pm Saturday: 8:00am - 2:00pm Sunday: Closed As an AAHA accredited hospital, we value our Certified Veterinary Technicians. With new hospital protocols, we are leveraging CVTs to their fullest extent. They will play a critical role in the growth and evolution of the practice. Benefits we offer:

Essential Functions: Maintain and uphold Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP. Provide guidance to the support staff to assure that the shift flows well. Mentor team members for career advancement and personal development. Provide patient care under the supervision and direction of a DVM. Maintain excellent client communication. Record all pertinent medical, client and case related information accurately. Review medical records, estimates or discharge instructions with clients. Answer client’s inquiries about basic animal care questions. Additional Functions: Provide client care for scheduling appointments, taking payments, and checking in clients. Answer the phones in a courteous and informative way. Provide feedback and changes to the training program. Take part in job shadows or working interviews as necessary. Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficient in a variety of skills ranging from laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental and nursing skills. Ability to demonstrate patience and composure in stressful situations. Ability to stay calm and efficient during a medical crisis. Ability to give SQ, IM and IV injections. Knowledge of usage, dosage, and common side-effects for commonly used prescription drugs. Knowledge of the common anesthesia and recovery states. Ability to properly extubate, monitor temperature and recover a patient from anesthesia. Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics, and language ability. Must be confident around pets. Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required. State Department of Regulation Licensing required. 1+ Years of Veterinary industry experience required. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate up to 50 pounds. Ability to endure sitting, standing and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods. Ability to work in noisy work conditions. Routine exposure to a variety of pets and potential hazards. Ability to hear verbal instructions and client discourse. Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity. Travel required:
Minimal travel required, possibly for vendor visits and associate education. Reasonable Accommodations:
