Renewables Asset Manager, Commercial Strategy - Energy Storage

Locations: FULLY REMOTE (Anywhere in the USA) This is an opportunity to join an industry-leading renewable energy venture and IPP with strong private equity backing, focused on developing and executing dynamic utility-scale energy storage projects. The company has accumulated over 9GW of projects in a short period and is currently expanding rapidly. The Role:

The Energy Storage Asset Manager will join a growing Asset Management Division, focusing on energy storage/battery storage asset management, O&M, energy trading strategies, and real-time operations. Responsibilities include: Managing daily operations of utility-scale battery storage assets across ISO/RTOs nationwide to optimize performance post-COD. Reviewing and recommending on commercial agreements such as PPA, O&M, Transmission Interconnection, Development Leases, Project Financing, and Entity Structures. Leading asset-based accounting initiatives, creating and analyzing operational budgets. Providing technical operational/engineering expertise to project teams on design, contractual terms, warranties, and risk assessments. Offering commercial expertise on P&Ls, budgeting, energy deal structures, PPAs, and cash management. Planning outages, switching, and maintenance to minimize downtime. Overseeing operational compliance with NERC/FERC and ISO/RTO requirements, managing third-party service providers. Qualifications: Experience in utility-scale renewables asset management, portfolio management, or operations management. Commercial asset management experience is REQUIRED; engineering background is a BIG PLUS. Proven success in asset management including financial performance optimization, O&M management, and energy platform experience (renewables, solar, wind, BESS, energy storage, natural gas, O&G, hydro, etc.). Strong background in commercial asset management—P&Ls, budgeting, energy deal structures, PPAs, cash management. Experience managing third-party O&M contractors and service providers. Knowledge of NERC, FERC, ISO/RTO compliance, outage management, and switching orders. Familiarity with SCADA management and plant control systems. Ability to review commercial agreements is a significant advantage. Ideal candidates have held roles such as Sr. Portfolio Manager, Asset Manager, Asset Management Lead, Sr. Asset Engineer, or similar in renewable or clean energy companies.
