Hours worked over 40 in a week can be reimbursed as additional pay at an equivalent hourly rate or banked as additional PTO. As a NEPA Specialist supporting our Idaho offices, you will work with a team to prepare National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other environmental documentation for transportation and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
Prepare NEPA documents (e.g., Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements) Participate in field studies, collecting and organizing data Analyze environmental data to quantify and document potential project impacts Draft, review, and revise technical environmental resource reports Coordinate with state and federal government agencies Participate in public and stakeholder outreach Work closely with clients in a document production role Support senior environmental staff in project management tasks, including developing and managing scopes, budgets, schedules, and quality of service
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, environmental policy, natural resources, or a related field Strong technical writing and communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills Basic understanding of NEPA policy and procedures or 1-3+ years of experience preparing NEPA documents Ability to interpret and apply federal and state environmental regulations (e.g., CWA, ESA, NHPA, etc.) Experience in geospatial analysis and mapping (ArcGIS) (preferred) Ability to work both individually and collaboratively as part of a team Ability to prioritize and track tasks across multiple projects Ability and willingness to perform field tasks in varying weather and terrain conditions Ability to travel, as needed, and be flexible with changes in work schedule Desire and ability to learn new skills Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
