This position oversees, manages and responds to reports of protected class discrimination and harassment, including sexual and gender-based misconduct. The role is part of the Office for Equity Compliance and Reporting (OECR) and reports directly to the AVP for Institutional Equity, Accessibility, and Compliance as the primary recipient of all reports and complaints, initial contact person, and manager of all resolution processes. The incumbent will work closely with the Director of Investigations and Title IX Coordinator to make initial recommendations and to evaluate and respond to reports. As a member of OECR, the incumbent serves as the primary entry point for University community members and other covered parties to report or seek information on discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct policies, and to seek information and interim support measures. The role has independent decision-making authority on the initial disposition of matters within OECR and authority to determine and implement supportive measures on behalf of the Director of Investigations and Title IX Coordinator. The incumbent will collaborate with the Office of General Counsel, University Human Resources, Campus Life, Athletics, and other campus partners as needed. In addition, the responsibilities include developing informational materials and implementing training programs on reporting and adjudication related to equal opportunity, non-discrimination, Title IX and related topics. Education and Experience
Required Qualifications: Master's degree from an accredited institution in a field related to the primary duties and responsibilities of the position plus one (1) to three (3) years of related experience in intake, overseeing progress, meeting deadlines, and public speaking in a higher education, non-profit, or other relevant setting. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be used to evaluate candidates who do not expressly meet the minimum qualifications listed above. In-depth knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to gender-based discrimination and harassment and sexual misconduct as they apply to colleges and universities, including FERPA, Title IX, the Clery Act, VAWA, and related laws, regulations and court decisions. Ability to apply these civil rights laws to individual reports and complaints, identifying and applying general principles to various situations. Ability to quickly and competently assess and respond to situations to determine appropriate actions. Experience and ability in managing confidential information and independently managing a significant caseload. Preferred Qualifications: At least two years of related experience in higher education non-discrimination compliance. Working knowledge of trauma-informed practices. Working knowledge of typical university policies and procedures related to discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct. Knowledge of contemporary issues surrounding discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct in the university setting. Knowledge of the Maxient software. Job Competencies

Strong skills in conflict resolution, problem solving and interviewing. Critical thinking to analyze information, evaluate results and facilitate resolution of challenging issues, including sensitive matters. Knowledge of evidence elements for discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct and retaliation. Discretion, tact, professionalism and neutrality in sensitive situations involving sexual misconduct allegations. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with a diverse campus community. Ability to work as part of a university-wide effort to resolve complaints neutrally and sensitively. Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with staff at all levels. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across the organization.
