Overview
Our Transmission Project Controls, Cost & Performance Team is hiring a Program Manager, Project Controls (individual contributor) to support procedures, processes, practices, tools, and systems to manage, control, and report on the performance of the Transmission Organization. The role can be based in Westwood, MA or Hooksett, NH. This position has primary responsibility for the implementation and stewardship of a robust Project Cost Control Program for the Capital Project Portfolio, with a focus on Baseline Management. The goal is to provide a standardized framework in support of proactive and efficient Project Cost Control processes: baseline establishment, data monitoring, change management, trends evaluation, forecasting and timely reporting. Supports the development, maintenance and reporting of Key Project Indicators (KPIs) for progress measurement, schedule performance, risk management, project productivity, contract change order management, contract invoice processing and other key metrics to drive efficiency and performance in the Project Management Organization. Produces a variety of complex reports and analyses to support project initiation, planning, execution, control, compliance and close-out initiatives. Ensures adherence to Eversource policies, procedures, and standards in collaboration with all functional departments. Essential Functions
Supports the development, implementation, management and continuous improvement for Project Cost Control and Project Performance processes, methodologies, procedures and services including, but not limited to: General
Oversees development of policies and procedures for Project Cost Control and Project Performance Measurement. Ensures policies and procedures are deployed and adhered to consistently across the organization. Collaborates with Project Management, Investment Planning, Operations, Contract Administration, Planning & Scheduling, Engineering, Procurement, Materials Management, Estimating and Project Performance to align methodologies with corporate goals and strategies. Implements enhancements to existing methods and procedures to support a continuous improvement program. Project Cost Control
Implements and stewards Baseline Management to track variances from approved cost budgets, schedules and design scopes of work. Manages the Project Change Control process to establish and monitor baselines in cost, schedule and scope against actual performance. Ensures Baseline Management philosophies and processes are reflected in the PMIS e-Builder. Manages development and updates to the Cost Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). Provides training in Project Cost Control / Baseline Management methodologies to project managers, consultants, contractors and staff. Works with Investment Planning, Contract Administration and Planning / Scheduling to ensure cost management at project and program levels, including cost tracking, forecasting and reporting CAPEX & PIS, and variance analysis. Ensures accuracy of cost information and proper coding and allocation to project budgets per the WBS. Monitors actual costs / commitments relative to budget and forecast. Reviews and reports on trends and their impact on forecasts. Provides oversight of the Contingency / Risk management processes. Maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders and management; collaborates with Estimating to feed back cost data and ensure new estimates include proper WBS coding. Project Performance Measurement
Creates and maintains project-level KPIs and statistics reports. Assesses progress measurement and updates progress curves for reporting. Applies project analytics to describe, predict, and improve business performance; creates reports to guide decision making in capital program management. Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications
Self-motivated with strong communication skills; ability to set priorities and support diverse needs. Experience as a leader or in team environments; support for process improvements and group facilitation. Understanding of project controls, finance/accounting, business, risk and project management processes. Knowledge of project controls, financial modeling, accounting, risk management, project management information systems, engineering economics, capital investment analysis techniques, plant accounting, tax and capital budgeting. Ability to monitor and analyze cost/schedule information, provide forecasts, make recommendations, and communicate effectively at all levels. Understanding of corporate strategies and initiatives and the Transmission organization. Demonstrated ability to influence group culture and performance. Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent experience Master’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration or equivalent education is highly desirable Experience
Five (5) to ten (10) years of related experience minimum in Project Controls for large complex multi-year capital construction projects. Licenses & Certifications
Project Management certification (PMP) is highly desirable Working Conditions
Limited travel to project sites and stakeholder locations. Must be available for emergency restoration assignments as required. Eversource supports hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, and team dynamics. Guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (emergencies, training, or other business needs) or as policy changes. Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is $116,260.00-$129,180.00. Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program; salary is commensurate with experience and this position is eligible for a potential incentive. Worker Type
