Overview
CT Radiology Tech (Mon-Thurs | 7a-5:30p) at Atrium Health Navicent. This position is full-time and sign-on bonus eligible. Department: 36317 Navicent Health Medical Center - CT. Responsibilities
Demonstrates competency in positioning of all CT procedures as prescribed by departmental policy and CT protocols. Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of understanding, and address questions or concerns. Positions patient and formulates appropriate techniques to demonstrate cross-sectional anatomy of interest based on accepted radiographic principles; judges diagnostic quality of finished medical images prior to submission to radiologist for interpretation. Performs venipuncture for administration of radiopaque media and assists in obtaining informed consent as appropriate. Reviews diagnostic imaging requests for appropriateness based on clinical information; questionable orders are communicated to radiologists for final approval. Takes verbal orders from providers as needed and enters appropriately in RIS system. Prepares and maintains records in accordance with regulatory agencies; enters patient and study information into the radiology information system and documents billing codes to ensure accurate charges. Assists, communicates, and consults with Radiologists. Works independently outside the department with providers as needed. Observes patient during radiologic exam for changes in status and takes appropriate action or contacts primary care givers for instruction. Provides guidance, direction and mentoring for other personnel in the area, including student radiographers. Identifies and corrects problems; reports critical occurrences to the next level of authority. Utilizes supplies and equipment in a cost-efficient manner. Maintains continuing education and applicable certifications for the modality. Education, Training, And Experience
Must be a High School or GED Diploma Graduate. Graduate of AMA, JRC or Regionally Accredited approved school of Radiologic Technology. No post-graduate experience required. ARRT Registered or Registry eligible through the ARRT. ARRT CT registry required in accordance with Work Instruction EMP 8. Pay Range
