Ensuring the achievement of Northern Arizona Healthcare’s mission, the Registered Nurse is accountable for the coordination of care for patients and their families, including direct care, patient and family education, and discharge planning. The nurse follows the nursing process of assessing, diagnosing, outcome identification, planning, implementing, and evaluation to deliver care. Additionally, the Registered Nurse provides leadership within the healthcare team by serving as a team leader, preceptor, and active team member. The practice aligns with the ANA Scope of Practice, the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, and relevant specialty standards. Responsibilities

Patient Care

Assess patient needs and conditions by gathering relevant health information. Develop and implement individualized care plans aimed at achieving expected outcomes. Monitor patient progress and revise diagnoses, outcomes, and care plans as needed. Contribute to a positive patient experience by providing safe, high-quality, patient-centered care, respecting privacy, and treating all with dignity and compassion. Evaluate patient conditions frequently and adapt care plans accordingly. Maintain sterile techniques and adhere to infection prevention standards. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals. Assist with procedures and patient transportation throughout the hospital according to policies. Education

Participate in creating a learning environment supported by evidence-based practice and research. Engage in ongoing professional development and peer interactions. Participate in mentoring and educational activities for colleagues and students. Compliance/Safety

Adhere to regulatory, organizational, and safety standards affecting patient care and safety. Stay current with relevant regulations and maintain necessary certifications and licenses. Complete mandatory training and ensure accurate documentation of care activities. Report safety incidents promptly and participate in safety training. Qualifications

Education

For RNs hired on or after 7/1/2016: Must graduate from a BSN program within 6 years of hire. Existing staff RNs are encouraged to pursue a BSN. Certification & Licensure

Active, unrestricted Arizona RN License or valid compact license is required. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. Additional Details
