Medical Assistant - SJPP Float Southern LA County Supports and floats throughout affiliated clinics in the Southern LA County vicinity such as Los Angeles, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, San Pedro, Torrance, Westchester, Ladera Heights, Pacific Palisades, Playa Vista and Santa Monica. The Medical Assistant (MA) II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. An MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
Responsibilities
Assist in patient care under the supervision of a licensed practitioner and perform duties as directed.
Maintain competency in clinical needs for the assigned clinic/location and adhere to established policies, procedures, and regulations.
Float across affiliated clinics to support patient care as needed.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school with hands-on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants, or graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program, or two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces, or minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant with clinical Skills (obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration).
Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
6 months healthcare experience; 6 months Medical Assistant experience.
Preferred Qualification
National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.
Locations include Santa Monica, Hawthorne, Los Angeles, Manhattan Beach, Pacific Palisades, Redondo Beach, San Pedro, Torrance, Westchester, Playa Vista, Ladera Heights. Pay ranges are listed by location.
